Tension is rising in Mbaviohor community in Gbemacha Council Ward of Gwer East Local Government Area, Benue State, following an order by personnel of the Nigerian Air Force Command in Makurdi asking residents to vacate their ancestral land.

According to a Facebook post by Prince ES Moughshor, Air Force personnel visited the community earlier today and instructed the residents to leave the land within a few days, warning that military action would be taken if they failed to comply.

The development has sparked serious concern because it comes despite a clear directive from the **House of Representatives Committee on Public Petitions**, which had ordered that no further action should be taken on the land matter until a full investigation is concluded.

Prince ES Moughshor described the Air Force’s action as a direct disregard for the directive of the federal parliament’s committee. He urged relevant authorities and decision-makers to intervene immediately to prevent escalation and ensure due process is followed.

The post tagged several individuals, including Joseph Ukange, Ahungwa Fidelis, Achado Asema, Moses Atime, Godwin Buluku, and Aondoaser Iortim, apparently to draw their attention to the matter.

This incident highlights the ongoing land disputes in parts of Benue State, where communities frequently clash with government institutions or powerful interests over ancestral lands. The involvement of the Nigerian Air Force has heightened fears among the Mbaviohor people, who fear forceful eviction.
