In a significant development, Ashinjo Vershima Solomon, the media aide to the Leader of the Guma Legislative Council, has tendered his resignation, citing non-payment of remuneration since his appointment. The announcement came via a statement released on Monday, October 20, 2025.

Solomon disclosed that he was appointed on October 18, 2024, by Hon. Godwin Aondohemba Begi, the Leader of the Council. However, he revealed that he has not received any financial compensation from the office since assuming the role. This lack of payment, spanning over a year, prompted his difficult decision to step down.

According to Solomon, the continued absence of payment made it impossible to perform his duties effectively.
