Hon. Ormin Torsar Victor, Wife Welcome Rescued Trafficked Girls, Offer Support

Hon. Ormin Torsar Victor, Chairman of Gwer West Local Government Area, and his wife, Chief Mrs. Ormin Dooshima Cynthia, have provided support and a warm welcome to Benue girls who were rescued after being trafficked to Ghana for prostitution.

The Council Chairman facilitated a meeting with Dr. Apostle Ezinne Ijeoma, Convener of Face of Joy International UK, who offered counseling to help the victims overcome trauma and pledged further support.

In a show of compassion, the Gwer West First Lady offered to enroll the girls in a fashion and design school while covering their monthly maintenance fees.

Hon. Ormin promised to pursue the case to its logical conclusion to ensure justice for the victims and to curb human trafficking activities in the area. He also advised the girls to resume schooling immediately.

The kind gesture has been widely commended, with calls on other council chairmen across Benue State to take similar steps in tackling human trafficking.
