Governor Alia Urges Continuity for Benue’s Development, Inaugurates Renewed Hope Ambassadors Coordinators at Strategic Engagement

Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia has urged the people of Benue State to remain steadfast in their support for his administration and that of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the 2027 general elections gather steam, stressing that continuity is essential to consolidating the gains of ongoing reforms.

Speaking at a Strategic Enlightenment Engagement held at IBB Square in Makurdi, the Governor highlighted notable progress across critical sectors, including infrastructure, security, and social services. He attributed these achievements to effective collaboration with the Federal Government and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to people-centered governance. Governor Alia emphasized that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu provides a practical framework for national recovery and sustainable development, noting that Benue State remains firmly aligned with this vision.

According to him, current interventions across key sectors are already delivering measurable improvements in citizens’ lives. As part of efforts to strengthen grassroots engagement, the Governor inaugurated Coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors across the state’s 23 local government areas and tasked them with deepening community engagement, enhancing public awareness of government policies, and promoting active citizen participation in governance.

“Our focus remains clear, to build a stable, secure, and prosperous Benue. The progress we are witnessing today is only the foundation. With sustained support, we will consolidate and expand these achievements for the benefit of all,” he stated.

Earlier, the Benue State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Benjamin Omale, reaffirmed the party’s commitment to strengthening internal cohesion and consolidating its structures ahead of future elections. He described the engagement as a strategic platform for mobilising grassroots support and positioning the party for greater electoral success.

On her part, the State Woman Leader, Helen Agaigbe, highlighted the importance of inclusive governance and greater participation of women in elective positions, while the State Youth Leader, Moses Bende, pledged continued support from young people for the administration.

Also speaking, the State Coordinator of Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Terhemen Tarzoor, stressed the need for sustained grassroots sensitization to amplify the achievements of the APC-led government.

The engagement concluded with a strong sense of unity among party stakeholders, who expressed shared commitment to deepening political participation, strengthening party structures, and securing future electoral victories through strategic mobilisation and effective communication of governance successes.
