Day Spring Community in Makurdi Ushers in New Youth Leader with Call for Unity and Integrity

A fresh chapter in youth leadership dawned in the Day Spring community of Makurdi on Friday, November 15, 2025, as Comrade Abraham Igbatim was officially inaugurated as the area’s youth leader. The event, orchestrated by the Makurdi Youth Leaders Association (MYLA) under the stewardship of its leader Comrade Philip Tor, highlighted the formal induction of Igbatim by the District Head of North Bank, His Royal Highness Chief Jime Ahoome.

In his charge during the induction, Chief Ahoome implored the new youth leader to uphold unwavering integrity and steer clear of any misconduct. He underscored that community-level leadership requires responsibility, discipline, and an unyielding commitment to peace, describing peace and unity as the bedrock of meaningful development. The traditional ruler advised Comrade Igbatim to act as a unifying force among the youth, fostering harmony and progress in Day Spring.

Comrade Philip Tor, addressing the assembly, called on elders and stakeholders to persistently pray for the protection and guidance of youth leaders throughout Makurdi. He voiced optimism that the community would witness enhanced youth participation, free from the tragedy of losing any serving youth head. The gathering drew youth organizations, traditional authorities, and various community groups, all extending robust support for the emerging leadership structure.

With his inauguration, Comrade Abraham Igbatim is now tasked with mobilizing, coordinating, and advocating for the interests of young people in Day Spring. The ceremony was meticulously documented by Comrade Terfa Ifan, who serves as the Public Relations Officer of MYLA and Youth Leader-Elect of the Makurdi North Youth Leaders Forum (MNYLF).
