Governor Hyacinth Alia Registers as APC’s Number One Member in Benue, Charges Residents to Revalidate Membership

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has formally registered as the number one member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state during the ongoing nationwide e-registration and revalidation exercise.

The flag-off of the exercise in Benue took place at the Governor’s hometown of Ihugh, Mbdadedede Ward, Vandeikya Local Government Area, where the Governor personally completed his registration and received his printout from the State Acting Chairman of the party, Benjamin Omale.

Addressing party faithful shortly after the registration, Governor Alia commended the APC leadership, particularly President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the national chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, for initiating the digital revalidation process. He described it as an opportunity to strengthen the party’s structures and prepare for future electoral contests.

“In 2023, you demonstrated to the entire world that Benue is APC. You demonstrated through the ballots that you love me and Mr. President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We have both remained faithful to the promises set out in our policy blueprints,” the Governor stated.

He urged all party members to visit their ward headquarters to revalidate their registration and encouraged new members wishing to join the APC to approach designated registration areas without delay. Governor Alia emphasized that a vote for him and President Tinubu represents a vote for consolidation of the party’s gains and continued delivery on campaign promises.

“My administration will give priority attention to the most registered areas because this is an APC administration,” he declared, signaling that areas with strong membership turnout would benefit from focused developmental attention.

The Governor also tasked all council chairmen and local government party chairmen to provide full support to registration agents and to mobilise residents to participate actively in the exercise. He stressed the importance of high participation to demonstrate continued loyalty and readiness to support the party in future elections.

The e-registration and revalidation exercise is part of the APC’s nationwide effort to update its membership database, eliminate ghost members, and build a more accurate and verifiable register ahead of upcoming political activities.

The event in Ihugh was witnessed by party leaders, supporters, and community members, who received the Governor’s registration as a symbolic show of his full commitment to the APC platform in Benue State.
