In a move that has brought instant relief to thousands of travelers in Benue State and beyond, Benue Links Nigeria Limited has officially launched its 2025 Christmas Transport Fare Reduction Bonanza, effective from today, Monday, December 8, 2025.
The state-owned transport company announced a slashed fares across all its inter-state and intra-state routes, giving commuters a much-needed financial breather during the traditional festive season rush. The special discount will run all the way until Friday, January 2, 2026, covering the peak Christmas and New Year travel period.
The initiative is coming on the direct orders of the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, and builds on the company’s existing fare discount structure, making travel even more affordable at a time when transport costs usually skyrocket across Nigeria.
According to the management, the fare reduction is deliberately timed to ease the economic burden on families, reduce the usual December fare hike by commercial operators, and allow passengers to redirect savings toward other pressing holiday needs. Benue Links emphasized that “even a small reduction can help families channel funds to other seasonal needs,” a statement that has resonated strongly with commuters already feeling the pinch of rising living costs.
As the flagship transport operator and chief regulator in Benue’s road transport sector, Benue Links says the gesture is part of its broader commitment to providing safe, reliable, and people-centered services, especially during high-demand periods.
Travelers heading to and from Makurdi, Otukpo, Gboko, Katsina-Ala, and other major towns in the state, as well as those connecting to neighboring states, are already trooping to Benue Links parks to take advantage of the reduced rates.
The management, through its Public Relations Officer, Rev. Johnson Fhi Daniel, extended warm Christmas and New Year greetings to all passengers while reiterating the company’s promise of safety and comfort throughout the season.
