Drama as Suspected Human Trafficker Intercepted at Benue Links Park in Gboko

Tension is rising in Gboko following the interception of a suspected human trafficker and two victims at the Benue Links Nigeria Limited park in Gboko.

Activist Zege’Orkwande Sughnen Yaaya raised the alarm in a strongly worded public statement directed at the Manager of Benue Links Nig. Ltd, Gboko Branch. According to him, one of his followers intercepted the suspect along with two trafficking victims at the park just moments ago.

The activist accused the company’s officials of moving the suspect and the victims into their office, locking the office, and allegedly hindering the individual who made the interception from following up on the case.

He demanded the immediate handover of the suspect and the victims to the appropriate security authorities for proper investigation and prosecution.

The post was copied to the Benue State Police Command in Makurdi and the Benue State Government.

The incident has once again drawn attention to the ongoing challenge of human trafficking in Benue State, with transport parks and terminals often identified as key points where such activities take place.

As at the time of filing this report, there has been no official response from Benue Links management or the police on the matter. Residents and rights activists are calling for swift action to ensure the victims are properly protected and the suspect is brought to justice.
