A disturbing narrative has surfaced in Nasarawa State, Nigeria, shedding light on what some are calling the “Yelewata Genocide.” According to a recent Facebook post by Franc Utoo, Esq., a legal professional affiliated with the University of Central Oklahoma, USA, the atrocities committed against local communities are far more complex—and closer to home—than previously acknowledged.

Utoo asserts that the masterminds and financiers behind these violent acts are not distant invaders, as the government has claimed, but local Fulani elements aided by collaborators within what he describes as an “axis of evil” in Nasarawa State, governed by Alhaji Abdullahi Sule. The post accuses the government of spinning a convenient tale, suggesting that the killers were alien nomads unfamiliar with Hausa or Fulani languages—a fabrication Utoo vehemently disputes.

“I stood firm to declare it a deliberate distortion of fact, designed to shield the guilty and confound the innocent,” Utoo writes. He claims that attached documents, including correspondence, name these collaborators without hesitation, pointing specifically to the Chief of Adudu. The post alleges that this individual’s actions have fueled ruthless extremism, tearing apart Tiv communities in both Nasarawa State and Benue.

For years, the affected communities have maintained a clear and unwavering stance, insisting that the truth must prevail. Utoo’s revelations suggest a deeper conspiracy, with the government allegedly complicit in obscuring the identities of those responsible. “With these revelations, and with the greater truth yet unfolding, our faith endures; justice will prevail, and the hand of God will lift our people above this darkness,” he concludes, expressing hope that divine victory will eventually emerge.

Further details are awaited as the public seeks clarity on these grave allegations.
