A constituent of Logo State Constituency in Benue State, Zaki Felix, popularly known on Facebook as Or Turan, has challenged the lawmaker representing the constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Prince Jiji Samuel, to account for projects executed in the area since his assumption of office.
Felix raised the issue in a post on his Facebook page, where he noted that three years and two months had elapsed since Jiji Samuel was sworn in as the representative of Logo State Constituency. The constituent asked residents of Logo Local Government Area to identify at least one project allegedly executed by the lawmaker during the period.
“It’s been 3 years and 2 months since Hon. Prince Jiji Samuel was sworn in as a Member Representing Logo State Constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly,” he stated. He then asked, “Please, can someone mention just one project that he has executed anywhere in Logo LGA in the last 3 years?”
Felix said his question was not intended to insult the lawmaker but was motivated by a desire to know what constituency interventions had been carried out during his tenure. He subsequently tagged several constituents, including Angbianev Tingir Johnson, Tyom Alexander, Anum Absalom, Umenger Paul Shater, Tombowua Agya Godwin, Aluter Peter Akighirga and Anum Joseph, asking them to provide answers.
The post has brought renewed attention to questions of constituency representation and accountability, particularly regarding projects and other interventions undertaken by elected lawmakers. As of the time of filing this report, the post did not contain a response from Hon. Prince Jiji Samuel addressing the concerns raised by the constituent.
