Pain has hit the Igede community following the death of popular Igede music star Rich Raps, who passed away on August 23, 2026, exactly one year and one day after losing his wife.
According to reports, Rich Raps lost his wife, Marcy Eskewi Audu, on August 22, 2025. He himself died on August 23, 2026.
The timing of the double loss has thrown Adum East, Ito and the entire Igede community into deep shock and mourning.
Rich Raps was an Igede man from Adum East in Ito, Obi Local Government Area, who married a Tiv woman from Ugbenyi in Buruku Local Government Area. Within the space of one year, both husband and wife are gone.
