The Okudu Council Ward, comprising Ojokwe, Inyuma and Ikwokwu communities, has endorsed Hon. Ogbugo Chris Egbe (popularly known as Egbe A’snal or Arsenal) as its preferred candidate for the Oju II Constituency seat in the Benue State House of Assembly.
The endorsement followed a peaceful mock election conducted by members of the ward and attended by political stakeholders and community leaders. The results showed Hon. Ogbugo Chris Egbe receiving 20 votes, while Hon. Ulaka Adams Okpenge and Hon. Peter Igwe Ochi (Omo Boy) each received zero votes.
Chief Iji Ikawu (Owowila Ny’Uwokwu), who chaired the exercise, announced Hon. Ogbugo Chris Egbe as the winner.
Reacting to the outcome, Egbe expressed appreciation to the people of Okudu for their confidence, promising to represent Oju II with integrity, courage and dedication. “Okudu has spoken, and I hear you loud and clear. Together, we will take Oju II to the promised land,” he said.
The Chairman of Okudu Council Ward, Mr. Ohia Akpo, commended the community for the peaceful conduct of the exercise and for expressing its preference with one voice.
