Tarhemba Cosmos has been arrested in Lagos for allegedly trafficking two Benue girls and preparing to move them to Mali.
According to a public post by Zege’Orkwande Sughnen Yaaya, the victims have been identified as Asule Queen and Azua Elizabeth. The arrest was carried out by the Gender/Trafficking Department (D10) of the State Criminal Investigation Department at Panti, Lagos.
The poster noted that Cosmos’ wife had earlier been arrested in connection with similar allegations of trafficking girls to Mali and was charged to court by the Benue State Police Command in Makurdi. At the time, Cosmos reportedly criticised the earlier arrest as wrongful. He had described himself as a POP installer and businessman.
Further details are expected as investigations continue.
