Okpokwu Rejects ADC Primary Outcome, Demands Equitable Zoning of Enone Federal Constituency Reps Ticket

Stakeholders in Okpokwu Local Government Area have rejected the outcome of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) primary election for the House of Representatives seat in Enone Federal Constituency, calling for the restoration and ratification of the established zoning arrangement.

In a statement, the group argued that, in line with the zoning principle observed across other federal constituencies in Benue South Senatorial District, the ADC ticket for Enone should be allocated to Okpokwu Local Government Area in the interest of equity and fairness. They maintained that all other local government areas in the district have adhered to this zoning formula and that Enone should not be treated differently.

The stakeholders disclosed that a formal petition has already been submitted to the National Secretariat of the ADC and other relevant party organs, demanding a review of the primary results, which they described as a “kangaroo primary election” that failed to reflect principles of justice and fairness.
