ASUU-BSU Declares Indefinite Strike Over Unresolved Welfare Issues

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, Benue State University Chapter (ASUU-BSU), has commenced an indefinite, total and comprehensive industrial action effective today, Monday, June 1, 2026.

In a formal notice addressed to the Vice-Chancellor of Benue State University, Makurdi, the union stated that the decision was reached after extensive deliberations at its Congress meeting held on June 1, 2026. The strike follows the persistent failure of the university management to satisfactorily address several long-standing welfare issues affecting its members, despite repeated engagements and assurances.
