Comr. Asortar James Asortar, a prominent political figure and supporter of Governor Hyacinth Alia, has declared that he will no longer associate with certain State and National Assembly members as well as some appointees who allegedly ignored and sidelined him from 2023 till date.
In a strongly worded statement shared via Alia TV Network, Asortar announced the end of what he described as the “era of empty promises.” He stated that he has taken note of those who failed to stand with him and his group when it mattered most, and vowed to act accordingly in the build-up to the 2027 general elections.
“I will no longer associate with those State and National Assembly members, as well as certain appointees, who chose to ignore and sideline me from 2023 till now,” he said.
Asortar further revealed that, together with Alia TV, he and his supporters will actively work against those who did not show loyalty during critical moments. He emphasized that payback time has come for those he believes abandoned or undermined their political alliance.
The statement has sparked reactions within Benue political circles, as it signals potential cracks and realignments within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) structure in the state ahead of the 2027 governorship and legislative elections.
Comr. Asortar James Asortar is known as a staunch supporter of the current administration and has been vocal on political matters through his media platform.
This development adds to the growing political tensions and horse-trading already heating up in Benue State as politicians begin early preparations for the next electoral cycle.
