Fresh Attack Claims Lives in Agatu Benue State

Fresh reports indicate that armed Fulani militia have continued their deadly attacks in Benue State, with yet another bloody incident recorded this evening, Thursday, April 23, 2026.

At Olagabulu, near Ogbaulu in Agatu Local Government Area, a husband and his wife were brutally killed in an attack. Several other victims sustained serious injuries and are currently battling for their lives in hospital.

Disturbingly, intelligence suggests that the attackers are issuing fresh threats to launch another assault on the Atakpa community tonight, further heightening fear and tension across the area.

This latest attack adds to the long list of violent incidents that have plagued Agatu and other parts of Benue State, leaving residents in mourning and living in constant fear for their safety.

The people of Agatu are once again calling for urgent and decisive security intervention to protect lives and restore peace in the community. As at the time of this report, there has been no official confirmation from security agencies on the incident.
