NYSC Member Ben Agir Une Killed by Vigilante Group in Buruku, Chairman Orders Prosecution

A National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, identified as Ben Agir Une, has lost his life following an alleged assault by a vigilante group in Buruku Local Government Area of Benue State.

The incident, which took place on April 22, 2026, has sparked outrage and renewed concerns over the conduct of informal security groups in the state.

According to reports, the corps member was attacked and killed by members of a local vigilante outfit. Details surrounding what led to the assault remain unclear, but the death has already drawn an official response.

The Chairman of Buruku LGA has strongly condemned the killing, describing it as unacceptable. In a direct directive, he ordered the immediate prosecution of all suspects linked to the death of the NYSC member.
