The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State will hold its non-elective State Congress on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Euniland Event Center in Makurdi, commencing at 12:00 noon.
In a press release signed by State Publicity Secretary Daniel Ihomun on March 2, 2026, the party invited a wide range of statutory delegates, critical stakeholders, and party leaders in line with the APC Constitution and guidelines approved by the National Working Committee (NWC).
The congress, to be conducted by affirmation in strict compliance with NEC guidelines, will feature the following categories of participants:
– His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, PhD, Executive Governor of Benue State
– His Excellency, Sen. George Akume, CON, Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Leader of the Party
– State Chairman and Members of the APC State Executive Committee
– Sen. Dr. Jack Tilley-Gyado, OFR
– Elder Simon Shango, MFR, Chairman, APC Elder Council
– Chief Michael Kaase Aondokaa, SAN
– Dr. Mathias Byuan
– Barr. Pius Akutah
– ESV Godwin Iyochimin
– Hon. Jeffery Kuraun

The congress follows recent preparations, including a meeting between APC national congress committees and INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner in Benue to finalise logistics. The event is expected to affirm the current state executive structure and reinforce party unity ahead of future electoral activities in the state.
