Governor Alia Congratulates Acting IGP Olatunji Disu, Expresses Confidence in Enhanced Security Outcomes

Benue State Governor, His Excellency Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has extended warm congratulations to the newly appointed Acting Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, following his elevation to the top position in the Nigeria Police Force.

In a statement released on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, Governor Alia acknowledged the Acting IGP’s extensive experience across various policing roles, where he consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property.

The appointment follows the retirement of the former Inspector General, Kayode Egbetokun. President Tinubu decorated Olatunji Disu as Acting IGP during a ceremony at the State House on Wednesday.
