The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Benue State Chapter, has officially announced that its House of Representatives Primary Elections will hold across the state on Sunday, 17th May, 2026.
In a statement signed by the State Secretary, Comrd Dan Nyikwagh, the party described the exercise as an affirmation of consensus candidates earlier adopted in line with the provisions of the PDP Constitution and the Electoral Act.
The primaries will be open to all duly registered PDP members who successfully participated in the party’s recent electronic membership registration exercise. To ensure transparency and credibility, a three-man committee has been constituted in each Federal Constituency to monitor, supervise, and certify the conduct of the primaries.
The exercise will take place at the headquarters of the respective Federal Constituencies across Benue State.
This announcement sets the stage for the PDP’s formal nomination process ahead of the 2027 general elections as the party seeks to consolidate its structure and present strong candidates for the National Assembly.
