Governor Hyacinth Alia has sent a strong message to those behind attacks in Benue State, declaring that “Terrorists must leave Benue.”
Speaking during an inspection of the ongoing rehabilitation of Taraku Mills in Gwer East Local Government Area, the governor said his administration will continue to confront armed groups until peace returns to every part of the state. According to him, protecting lives and securing farmlands remains the foundation of his government’s plan to revive agriculture and grow the state’s economy.
Governor Alia stressed that Benue farmers cannot reach their full potential if they are constantly living in fear. He maintained that no one will be allowed to take over Benue land, promising to sustain security operations and enforce the law until criminal elements are flushed out.
He also expressed satisfaction with the progress of work at Taraku Mills, saying the factory is close to resuming operations. The governor encouraged farmers, especially those cultivating soybeans, maize, and groundnuts, to increase production, noting that the revived mill will create jobs, boost local businesses, and improve the state’s economy.
