A public appeal has been made offering ₦100,000 for useful information leading to the arrest of a couple accused of human trafficking. The post, shared by Zege’Orkwande Sughnen Yaaya, names Mr. Terfa Joseph, also known as Matoto, and his wife, Mrs. Terfa Kpemyol Faith, as suspects who have been on the run for five months.
According to the appeal, the pair, said to be from Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State, allegedly moved more than 100 girls from Benue to Burkina Faso and other African countries for prostitution. The poster stated that he had personally rescued four of the victims, including two minors, and was continuing efforts to bring others home. The couple is reported to have fled Konshisha for an unknown location.
The appeal calls on anyone with credible information about their current whereabouts to come forward, with the promised reward payable after their arrest. It was directed to the attention of NAPTIP Nigeria, the Benue State Police Command, the Benue State Government and the International Organization for Migration. Authorities have not yet issued an official response to the claims.
