A leaked WhatsApp conversation involving Asom D Jerry, Dan-Morgan Ihomun, and others has sparked controversy in Benue State, with allegations of a coordinated plan to undermine the achievements of Governor Hyacinth Alia on social media.
The chat, which has gone viral, reportedly shows participants discussing strategies to “rubbish” the governor’s efforts. It also reveals discussions around payments, with claims that members would receive ₦300,000 each from an alleged ₦50 million fund meant for media activities aimed at shaping public perception.
In the leaked messages, participants welcomed Krayzeetee into the group and emphasized the need to counter the current administration’s narrative through coordinated social media efforts. One message explicitly stated the need to “rubbish the little effort of this demon called Alia” using social media influence.
The development has ignited intense reactions across Benue’s political landscape, with many describing the chat as evidence of an orchestrated campaign against the governor. Asom D Jerry, who shared the story, described himself as the “Benue state Social media landlord” while promising to expose those involved.
The controversy comes amid ongoing political realignments and criticisms of the Alia administration. As at the time of this report, none of the individuals named in the chat have issued an official response to the leaked conversation. The incident has further heightened tensions and public discourse on political loyalty, media influence, and governance in the state.
