Labour Party Aspirant Mathias Byuan Distances Self from APC Governorship Primaries

Labour Party governorship aspirant in Benue State, Mathias Byuan, has distanced himself from the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primaries, describing his inclusion in the party’s list as unauthorised and misleading.

In a statement released on social media, Byuan insisted that he had resigned from the APC earlier and has since fully moved to the Labour Party, where he has already been screened and is awaiting the party’s primaries scheduled for May 30, 2026.

He urged the public and his supporters to disregard any APC list linking his name to the ongoing primaries, reaffirming his commitment to contesting the governorship under the Labour Party platform.

Byuan also used the opportunity to reaffirm his support for President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda while calling on his supporters to remain united behind his gubernatorial ambition in the Labour Party.

The development comes as political activities intensify across Benue State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
