A strong call has been made for the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, to immediately condemn the recent killings in Katsina-Ala and direct security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation, with perpetrators arrested and prosecuted.
The appeal, circulating on social media, also urged Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia to visit the affected communities in the same manner he has visited others during times of crisis, stressing that every Nigerian life deserves equal empathy and attention.
The statement further called on the Chairman of Katsina-Ala Local Government to urgently visit the communities, coordinate relief efforts, assess the situation firsthand, and collaborate with security agencies to restore peace.
It also appealed to the Sultan of Sokoto, Miyetti Allah leadership, religious leaders, traditional rulers, and other respected voices to publicly condemn the killings and promote peaceful coexistence.
Security agencies including the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and others have been urged to act swiftly to protect lives and ensure justice is served without bias.
The message emphasized that violence against innocent people should never be selective in concern or response, and that justice must apply equally regardless of where victims come from.
