Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has declared that his administration will not surrender any portion of Benue land to herdsmen, reaffirming his commitment to tackling insecurity across the state.
Speaking during his thank-you tour to Katsina-Ala, Ukum and Logo Local Government Areas, the governor assured residents that Benue would overcome the security challenges affecting some parts of the state.
“Benue will defeat insecurity. I will never cede any part of Benue land to herdsmen,” Alia said.
He also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for establishing the Nigeria Army 5 Division in Benue, describing it as an important step toward strengthening security in the state.
Former Governor Gabriel Suswam, who joined Alia on the tour, praised the administration, noting that ongoing projects across the state were helping to fulfil promises made to the people.
Meanwhile, Tor Sankera, HRH David Sevav, appealed to Governor Alia to revive the waterworks serving the Sankera area and increase appointments for indigines of the area. He added that the people of Sankera would reciprocate the administration’s efforts with their support in the 2027 election.
