A youth coordinator from Igede has come forward with claims of political exploitation, accusing politicians in the Oju/Obi federal constituency of using young people for their gains while failing to deliver on promises.
In a detailed post, the individual narrated how he was appointed as coordinator for Obeko youths in a liberation team after a recommendation. He accepted the role with optimism and received an appointment letter at the Obi APC head office in Obarike Ito. However, despite assurances of a monthly salary, he received only ₦5,000 at the end of the month, which was described as mere data allowance.
He participated in a peaceful protest organized by Igede youths over the deplorable condition of the federal road in Obi. The protest reportedly drew insults from the House of Representatives member representing the constituency. The coordinator said he apologized to the youths on behalf of the leadership but was later accused of betrayal and siding with the protesters, leading to his removal from the position and replacement by someone from Obeko.
He described the political landscape in Igede as concerning, marked by exploitation, and stated that he has now joined a revolutionary team advocating for good governance. Reflecting on his experience, he warned against political deception and urged the people to vote wisely in the 2027 elections, emphasizing the need to choose leaders based on truth and evidence rather than empty promises.
