Governor Hyacinth Alia Commends Benue Workers on 2026 May Day, Highlights SACHPIIP Development Agenda

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has commended all workers in the state and across the country on the occasion of the 2026 Workers’ Day celebrations.

In a press statement released on Friday, May 1, 2026, the Governor described the day as an opportunity to celebrate Benue workers and underscore their critical role in his administration’s ongoing efforts to transform the state and improve the lives of the people.

Governor Alia praised the immense contributions of the state workforce, noting that their dedication has driven visible transformation in key sectors. He described workers as important stakeholders in the implementation of his administration’s seven-point development plan, known as SACHIIP, which stands for:

The Governor emphasized that workers’ welfare remains a top priority for his administration. He assured that government will continue to implement worker-friendly policies aimed at enhancing their welfare and boosting their capacity to deliver quality service.

He also lauded the labour unions in Benue State for their cooperation and support, which he said has significantly enhanced workers’ productivity in the state.

Governor Alia wished all Benue workers a memorable and fulfilling celebration, urging them to sustain the spirit of hard work and dedication as the state continues on the path of development.
