Dr. Eunice Ortom Emerges PDP Senatorial Candidate for Benue North-West

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has formally affirmed Dr. Mrs. Eunice Ortom, the immediate past First Lady of Benue State, as its Senatorial Candidate for the Benue North-West (Zone B) District ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The affirmation took place during the party’s zonal senatorial primary exercise held in Katsina-Ala, drawing large numbers of delegates and stakeholders from across the seven local government areas in the district. Party leaders described her emergence as a product of broad consultation, consensus, and grassroots acceptability.

In his welcome address, the PDP Zonal Chairman, Hon. Tyona Gbenyi, commended the delegates for their commitment to the democratic process and described Dr. Ortom’s candidacy as a historic choice. The motion for her adoption was moved by the immediate past Acting State Chairman, Hon. Isaac Teryima Mfo, and seconded by prominent stakeholders including former Senator Sen. Barr. Fred Orti.

Dr. Eunice Ortom expressed gratitude to the delegates and the people of the zone, describing the opportunity as both humbling and a call to greater service. She paid tribute to her husband, Chief Samuel Ortom, for his support and pledged to deliver quality representation through people-oriented legislation.
