Former Lobi Stars Football Club Chairman Dominic Iorfa has been appointed Vice Chairman (North) of the NPFL Club Owners Association. The Benue-born former Nigerian international and respected football administrator brings a wealth of experience spanning playing, coaching and administration to the role.
As a player, Iorfa represented Nigeria at the international level, featuring for the country at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games as well as in FIFA and other international fixtures. He enjoyed a career abroad with clubs including Ranchers Bees, Royal Antwerp, Queens Park Rangers, Galatasaray, Peterborough United and Waterford United before returning to Nigeria to play for Lobi Stars.
His achievements extended well beyond the pitch. Iorfa later became deeply involved in football administration and was instrumental in the affairs of Lobi Stars, serving as Chairman and contributing to the club’s continued presence at the highest level of Nigerian football. Under his broader involvement, Lobi Stars enjoyed notable domestic successes, including their 1999 league title, 2003 FA Cup triumph and Super Cup victories.
He has remained active in the development and management of the game, currently serving as General Manager of Barau FC, where his experience continues to add value to the club’s football operations. With his background as a former international player, coach, club chairman and administrator, Iorfa’s appointment is expected to bring strong leadership and valuable representation to the northern clubs within the NPFL Club Owners Association.
