Community-Based Child Protection Training Reaches Day Three in Otukpo

The second batch of the five-day intensive training for Community-Based Child Protection Structure (CBCPS) volunteers is ongoing successfully in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.

Now in its third day, participants across the five designated training centres remain actively engaged in practical and interactive sessions. The programme is equipping volunteers with essential skills to identify, prevent, and respond to cases of child abuse, neglect, exploitation, violence, and other protection concerns in their communities.

Facilitators are guiding participants through key modules covering child rights, case identification and referral pathways, community engagement, psychosocial support, and the roles of community-based child protection structures. The training also features group discussions, role-play exercises, and experience-sharing sessions for enhanced practical learning.

Supported by the Benue State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare in collaboration with development partners, the initiative aims to build a stronger network of trained volunteers capable of championing child protection at the grassroots level.
