The City Boy Movement has empowered market women in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, as part of its humanitarian activities targeting women and young people. The exercise took place on Friday at Railway Market and Wadata Market, following a meeting between the movement’s delegation and the Office of the First Lady of Benue State, Hon. Mrs Scholastica Terngu Ben-Sor.
The delegation was led by Miss Sophie Uzodimma, daughter of Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, and included Dr Ene Aduba, a Benue-born professional based in Abuja who serves as the movement’s Director of Internal Affairs.
During the meeting, Dr Aduba thanked Mrs Ben-Sor for receiving the delegation and highlighted the importance of cooperation among stakeholders in delivering humanitarian services to communities. Other members of the delegation included the movement’s Benue State Women Leader, Hon. Comfort Briggs Lokpobiri; her deputy, Hon. Member Dekera; wives of local government chairmen; and representatives of women’s support groups.
The movement is also scheduled to hold a free medical outreach on Saturday at Mar-Cathy Stadium in Wadata, Makurdi. The programme is aimed at improving access to basic healthcare for women and young people. The activities form part of the movement’s efforts to support vulnerable groups through economic empowerment and access to healthcare.
