In a heartwarming display of compassion, the lives of twin infants suffering from severe malnutrition and illness have been transformed thanks to the swift action of Ukan and Hon. Jonathan Modi, Executive Chairman of Ukum Local Government Area. The story unfolded over the past three days when Ukan, overwhelmed by over 49 mentions of the twins’ dire condition, reached out privately to seek help.

The mother, a struggling farmer from Zaki Biam, had resorted to traditional treatment at home due to a lack of access to proper medical care, leading to no progress and growing despair. Moved by the flood of comments and cries for help, Ukan made a discreet call to Hon. Modi, sharing photos of the infants via WhatsApp. Without hesitation, Modi responded, directing the mother to take the twins to Saint Anthony Hospital Zaki Biam immediately and arranging for a kind-hearted Rev. Sister to oversee their treatment at his expense.

Beyond medical care, Modi provided essential supplies including a bag of rice, a carton of noodles, a big tin of powdered peak milk, powdered bournvita, a sachet of detergent, a packet of sugar, a big loaf of bread, two bunches of banana, and a substantial amount of money for their continued upkeep. His actions, marked by a fatherly heart rather than just a leader’s duty, saved the twins’ lives.

Ukan praised Modi’s quiet but impactful support, noting his decision to act at 5:55 AM that morning. This incident highlights the power of silent, purposeful action on social media, proving that help often comes with love and changes everything. Humanity is better for such selfless acts by individuals like Modi and the Rev. Sister.
