Benue Links Slashes Transport Fares for Christmas, APC Women Honour GM, Reaffirm Loyalty to Governor Alia

In what has become an annual gesture of goodwill, Benue Links Nigeria Limited has announced a significant reductions in transport fares across all its routes ahead of the 2025 Christmas and New Year celebrations.

The state-owned transport company disclosed that the Christmas bonanza, which takes effect from Monday, 8th December 2025, is in direct obedience to the directive of the Executive Governor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, aimed at cushioning the economic hardship faced by travellers during the yuletide season.

General Manager of Benue Links, Comrade Alexander Aondobemba Fanafa, KSM, MNIM, broke the news on Thursday, 4th December, while hosting members of the APC Wisdom Women paid him a solidarity visit at the company’s headquarters in Makurdi.

Fanafa thanked the women for their unflinching support and used the occasion to rally Benue people to continue backing Governor Alia, insisting that sustained support would spur the administration to achieve even more for the state.

In her remarks, the President of APC Wisdom Women, Hon. Mrs. Kpadoo Atetan, commended Comrade Fanafa for his visionary leadership in turning around the fortunes of Benue Links, pointing to visible improvements in fleet, infrastructure, and strict adherence to the governor’s people-centred transport policies. She noted that these strides made under his watch have ensured that affordable and reliable transport now reaches even the remotest parts of Benue.

Mrs. Atetan, on behalf of the group’s leader, Hon. Mrs. Helen Pinen Agaigbe (who was unavoidably absent), presented an Award of Excellence to the General Manager and reaffirmed the women’s total commitment to Governor Alia’s second-term bid in 2027.

The event was rounded off with prayers for the Governor, the General Manager, and the state, as well as presentation of gifts to Comrade Fanafa. In appreciation, the GM pledged to donate customised wrappers to the group for easy identification during their political outings.

Travellers across Benue have already begun expressing delight at the announcement, with many describing the fare slash as a timely Christmas gift from the Alia administration.
