Man Wanted After Allegedly Killing Brother with Axe in Gboko, Benue State

A public alert has been issued for Mr. Aondofa Adesugh, popularly known as “Adone,” of Amua Village in Gboko, Benue State, who is wanted in connection with the alleged killing of his brother, Mr. Iorverashe Akiishi.

 

According to information circulating in the area, the incident followed a disagreement over pigs that were said to have destroyed a cassava farm. On the morning of 15 September 2026, at about 7:30 a.m., the suspect allegedly attacked his brother with an axe, resulting in his death.

Aondofa Adesugh is reported to be at large. Members of the public have been urged to exercise caution and not attempt to confront or apprehend him. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is advised to contact the nearest police station or any officer at the “A” Division Police Station in Gboko immediately.

Authorities are appealing for the message to be shared widely to assist in locating the suspect so that the matter can be properly investigated and handled according to the law. Members of the public are reminded not to take the law into their own hands.
