The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Benue State Command, on Thursday hosted the newly deployed Comptroller of Immigration, CIS TA Musa, on a familiarisation and courtesy visit aimed at strengthening inter-agency collaboration.
CIS TA Musa paid the visit to the State Commandant of the NSCDC Benue State Command, Commandant of Corps LA Bitrus, at the State Headquarters in Makurdi. He was received with full compliments by the Commandant and members of the State Management Team.
Speaking during the engagement, the Comptroller explained that the visit aligned with existing protocols to familiarise with sister agencies and deepen synergy between the Nigeria Immigration Service and the NSCDC. He appreciated the warm reception accorded him and his entourage, and called for closer collaboration in the fight against criminality, irregular migration and other security threats. Musa noted that both agencies share a common mandate of securing the nation and stressed that effective information sharing, joint operations and mutual support remain critical, particularly in a border state like Benue.
In her response, Commandant LA Bitrus congratulated the Comptroller on his deployment to Benue State and assured him of the Corps’ unwavering commitment to synergy and cooperation. She stated that under her stewardship the Command would not relent in protecting critical national assets and infrastructure, including the soon-to-be-installed border monitoring control room at the NIS State headquarters in Makurdi. The Commandant also pledged continued collaboration with sister agencies to combat insecurity, smuggling and other trans-border crimes, adding that her doors remain open for robust engagement that will enhance national security and service delivery in the state.
The visit featured an exchange of souvenirs, a group photograph and a briefing on areas of mutual interest.
