The Markolima Consultancy Academy (MACA), in partnership with the Nigerian Good Governance Initiatives, unveiled the highly anticipated “Benue State: 2027 Roadmap” at the Niccon Luxury Hotel in Abuja. The event brought together 2027 Benue State governorship aspirants, academia, critical stakeholders, politicians, and supporters from across party lines.
The BoT Chairman of MACA, Dr. Timothy Aikor, opened the event with remarks highlighting the roadmap as a platform designed to enable all 2027 governorship aspirants in Benue State to interact with the public. He emphasized that the initiative would allow aspirants to outline their plans for improvement if elected in 2027, fostering engagement through one-on-one interactions and providing citizens the opportunity to pose questions.
Chief Terlumun Akputu, Chairman of the occasion, commended the organizers for their laudable initiative, describing it as a first of its kind. He urged the team to remain focused in their quest to secure leadership for the people of Benue State by 2027, undeterred by distractions.
In a keynote presentation titled “Insecurity and the Challenge of Political Leadership in Benue State,” Vice Chancellor of the University of Mkar, Professor Zachery Gundu, called on political actors to prioritize state interests over personal gains. He stressed the importance of addressing the bigger picture—security and development—urging collective responsibility for the safety of lives and property in the state.
Several 2027 governorship aspirants, including Professor Dennis Ityavyar, Dr. Tersoo Loko, Dr. Jeffery Kuraun, Surv. Godwin Tyoachimim, and Dr. Simon Ater, also spoke at the event. They pledged to rectify past mistakes and steer Benue State toward progress across all sectors, assuring the public of their understanding of the state’s challenges and commitment to delivering results if elected.
The theme of the Benue State: 2027 Roadmap, “Who will govern Benue State come 2027?”, set the stage for an engaging dialogue. Details about the programmes lined up for the roadmap platforms will be made available soon, promising further opportunities for public involvement.
This initiative marks a significant step toward shaping the future leadership of Benue State, with stakeholders eagerly awaiting the next phase of this innovative process.
