The Deputy Governor of Benue State and Chairman of the APC Communiqué Drafting Committee, Barr. Sam Ode, has issued a strongly worded disclaimer rejecting claims that the party agreed on an automatic ticket for Governor Hyacinth Alia, National Assembly members, and State Assembly members.

In the official disclaimer, Barr. Sam Ode clarified that no such resolution on automatic tickets was contained in the communique or draft from the reconciliation meeting convened by Governor Alia. He stated that some sponsored advertorials in national dailies mischievously misrepresented the outcome of the meeting.
