Sextortion Trial of Suspended Benue Governor’s Aide Dr. Donatus Aondona Continues at Federal High Court Lafia

The high-profile sextortion case involving Dr. Donatus Aondona Mkor, the indefinitely suspended Special Adviser to Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia on Documentation, Research, Strategy and Planning, continued today at the Federal High Court sitting in Lafia, Nasarawa State, before Justice M.O. Olajuwon.

Dr. Mkor was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in 2025 following allegations by several young women that he lured them with promises of ushering jobs and other opportunities, only to demand sexual favours and later blackmail them with secretly recorded intimate videos.

Governor Alia promptly suspended the aide indefinitely after his arrest to allow for a proper investigation and judicial process.

During today’s proceedings, attention remained on the testimony of witnesses who have narrated how the governor’s former aide allegedly lured them. The EFCC has been presenting its case, with calls intensifying for the affected girls to receive justice.
