Benue State Advances Agricultural Industrialisation with National Food City Complex in Otukpo

The Benue State Government is taking bold steps to transition from subsistence farming with hoes and cutlasses to a full agricultural industry, anchored by the development of the National Food City Complex in Otukpo.

According to a statement from Benue Family, the complex represents a new chapter where farming meets processing, storage, logistics, and power generation in one integrated location.

Governor Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia is demonstrating how modern economies grow by turning raw produce into finished products and creating jobs at scale. Over 30 youths from the Ogyom community are already employed in the early stages of construction of the 12-kilometre road leading to the complex.

The Benue Investment Promotion Agency has affirmed its commitment to driving investments that deliver real economic value for the people of Benue, as the state positions itself as a hub for agricultural industrialisation.
