14-Year-Old Kidnapped Boy Rescued in Benue, Suspected Abductors Flee

In a swift display of vigilance, personnel of the Benue State Civil Protection Guards on routine patrol along the Oweto-Otukpo road in Agatu LGA on Friday, 29th November 2025, intercepted a suspicious vehicle and rescued a 14-year-old boy who had been abducted.

According to reports, the kidnappers, upon sighting the security team around 19:45hrs, abandoned the boy at Egla, Agatu LGA and fled the scene.

The victim, identified as Daniel, son of Michael and Rebecca, was immediately taken to the Benue State Civil Protection Guards office at Obagaji, Agatu LGA where he received medical attention and care. He is now confirmed to be in stable condition.

During interrogation on Saturday morning, 30th November 2025, the boy provided the following details:

– Full name: Daniel
– Age: 14 years
– School: Contract Secondary School, Mararaba, Nasarawa State
– Class: JSS 2
– Residence: Mararaba Sharp Corner, Nasarawa State
– Tribe: Idoma

The young victim stated that he does not know his parents’ phone numbers.

He has since been handed over to the Nigerian Police at Obagaji, Agatu LGA for further investigation and efforts toward reuniting him with his family.

Authorities have appealed to the public, especially residents of Nasarawa and Benue States, to widely circulate the information so that Daniel’s parents or guardians can quickly locate him.
