Youths Apprehend Suspected Human Trafficker Transporting Two Girls to Lagos in Buruku

A suspected human trafficker was apprehended by youths at Yandev, Buruku Junction in Benue State, while attempting to transport two young girls to Lagos.

According to a report by Zege’Orkwande Sughnen Yaaya, the trafficker was intercepted following community vigilance and prompt action by local youths who followed up on the suspicious movement. The suspect was held at the scene as shown in photographs circulating on social media, with members of the public gathered around him.

The incident has been welcomed as a sign of growing awareness and community involvement in the fight against human trafficking. The poster commended the youths for their proactive role and urged that the suspect be taken to the Tor Tiv Palace for “morning tea” before being transferred to the Benue State Police Command in Makurdi for proper investigation and prosecution.
