Professor Sebastien Hon, SAN Alleges Victimisation, Vandalism of Billboards and Arrest of Supporters

Professor Sebastien Hon, SAN, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Governorship Candidate for the 2027 Benue State election, has raised alarm over what he describes as continued harassment and intimidation against him and his political structure.

In a strongly worded statement, Professor Hon claimed he was prevented from being honoured in Ugba, Logo Local Government Area, and Mbatierev in Gboko Local Government Area. He also alleged that his fuel station in Gboko was personally invaded by the Governor.

The SDP candidate further stated that his billboards at Igyura in Gboko LGA were vandalised and burnt, while some of his supporters were arrested and remain in detention.

Expressing frustration, Professor Hon asked, “Again, where do we go from here?”

The development comes amid rising political tensions in Benue State as different parties intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections. No official reaction from the state government has been reported as at the time of this publication.
