Controversy is brewing in Benue North West Senatorial District following the emergence of Retired Assistant Comptroller General B.T. Aber as the All Progressives Congress (APC) flag bearer for the senatorial seat.
In a strongly worded statement, the MINDA Youths Progressive Minds (MYPM) have challenged youths from Gwer East to provide clarification on the circumstances surrounding Aber’s emergence as the candidate. The group raised several questions regarding his rank in the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and the processes that led to his selection as the party’s standard bearer.
The development has sparked intense discussions among stakeholders in the district, with many wondering about the implications of fielding a retired senior customs officer who recently attained the rank of Assistant Comptroller General.
As reactions continue to pour in, particularly from Jam Terwase and several other concerned individuals, the MYPM insists that the youths of Gwer East must address the lingering questions to clear the air and maintain transparency within the APC in the senatorial zone.
The situation remains fluid as party members and residents await further explanations from those involved in the candidacy process.
