The Executive Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Council, Hon. Prince Maxwell Ogiri, FCAI, has, on behalf of the people of Otukpo, commended Benue State Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia for clearing the outstanding salary arrears inherited from the previous administration. In a press release issued on Saturday, 26 September 2026, the chairman described the development as a significant demonstration of the Governor’s commitment to workers’ welfare and financial security.
Prince Ogiri noted that the payment, coming alongside the continued regular payment of salaries under the new minimum wage regime, reflects the Governor’s determination to address inherited liabilities while sustaining the welfare of workers and pensioners across the state.
The chairman also commended Governor Alia’s infrastructure, urban renewal and industrialisation drives, particularly the reactivation of the Taraku Mills and his commitment to commence the reactivation of the Benue Burnt Bricks in Otukpo. He further expressed appreciation to the Governor for siting the multi-billion-naira National Food City Project in Otukpo, describing it as a major investment with significant potential for economic growth and employment opportunities.
Prince Ogiri reaffirmed the appreciation and support of the people of Otukpo for Governor Alia’s administration and its development initiatives, assuring that the people of Otukpo remain committed to supporting the Governor’s bid for re-election in 2027.
