Newborn Twins Abandoned in Vandeikya Rescued by Local Task Force, Named by Council Chairman

A set of newborn twins, a boy and a girl, were abandoned at a bushy refuse disposal slope known as Wangbeen Jor in Mbaaji, Ningev Council Ward, Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State. The babies were rescued by the Local Government Task Force during a sanitation routine on Saturday, according to a Facebook post by TIVDOO citing Zega’Orkwande Sughnen Yaaya.

The Council Chairman of Vandeikya received the twins and has promised to train them to the best of his ability. He named the boy “Guda-Alia” and the girl “Alia-Doo”. Authorities have not released further details regarding the identity of the mother or the circumstances surrounding the abandonment.

The rescue has drawn commendation from residents, while the chairman’s pledge to care for the infants has been noted as a humanitarian gesture by local observers.
