The Chairman of Makurdi Local Government Area, Joseph Keffi, has strongly condemned the brutal killing of three residents by suspected cultists in Wurukum, Walomayo Council Ward, on the night of Wednesday, January 7, 2026. The attack, which occurred around 11:49 pm, has sent shockwaves through the community and raised fresh concerns over rising cult-related violence in the state capital.
The victims were identified as Mr. Hundred, a resident living opposite the Wurukum Mosque; Martins Dagba, popularly known as Wonder, who resided near Solace Hotels; and Aondoaseer Yisa, also called Poka, of Usman Street. According to reports, the assailants struck late at night, targeting the individuals in what appears to be a targeted cult clash.
