Governor Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia has announced free meals for residents at two popular Makurdi restaurants, Kilimanjaro and Amala Spot, both located along Iyorchia-Ayu Road.
The initiative, which took effect today, drew large crowds of patrons eager to enjoy complimentary meals at the two establishments. The gesture is aimed at supporting residents and promoting community goodwill.
A spokesperson from the governor’s office described the free-meal offer as a reflection of the administration’s commitment to social welfare and the promotion of local businesses. “Governor Alia believes in giving back to the people and encouraging community engagement,” the spokesperson said.
Residents who benefited from the initiative expressed gratitude to the governor, praising his concern for the welfare of the people. The free-meal offer is expected to run throughout the day, after which both restaurants will return to normal operations.
This latest move forms part of the state government’s broader efforts to promote social support and unity across Benue State.
