Lands Commissioner, Dr. Frederick Rallies Support for Governor Alia Beyond 2027

The Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Solid Minerals, Rev. Dr. Frederick Lanshima Ikyaan, called for unity among the Tyoshin people to support Governor Hyacinth Alia’s re-election bid in 2027. Speaking at an interactive meeting held at Bem Hotel in Makurdi, in the presence of Col. Alexander Anshungu (rtd), Security Adviser-External and Logistics to the Governor, Ikyaan emphasized the need to continue the governor’s good work beyond 2027.

Ikyaan canvassed massive support for Alia’s administration, lamenting the perennial division among his kinsmen but praising Col. Anshungu for leading the way in uniting the people. He urged them to unite in supporting a governor who has demonstrated care through a series of appointments.

The commissioner highlighted the governor’s efforts in security and appointments as key reasons for continued support. Other speakers, including Principal Special Assistant (PSA) to the Governor on Print Media, Hon. Donald Kumun, former NUJ Chairman and elder statesman Chief Goddy Ikyereve, and Acting General Manager of Benue State Environmental Sanitation Authority (BENSESA), Hon. Anta Igbaato, echoed the call for peace and unity among APC members in Gwer-West. They stressed their collective mission to ensure the APC’s continued success in the area and the state at large.

Additional voices, such as Executive Chairman of Gwer-West Local Government, Hon. Victor Torsaa Ormin, and All Progressives Congress for the Local Government, Hon. Donatus Asanyi, reinforced the need for unity in the state’s best interest. The convener, Col. Anshungu, also noted the governor’s great work in security and appointments as reasons to rally behind Alia’s leadership beyond 2027.
